Learn about Quillwork from cleaning, sorting and sizing quills for various projects, to types of stitching for quillwork applique or earrings, and dying quills in various colors. Prerequisite: Students must have experience in basic sewing by hand, beadwork or jewelry-making, strong manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination. Anyone with arthritic hands may not be capable of doing quillwork. Students will be around boiling water, a Dremel saw demo, and will use small hand tools, glover needles, sinew, needle-nosed pliers, tongs, and hot water bottles in this workshop. Ages: 16+
