Films matter for the same reason art matters; it enriches our belief and culture. The Wisconsin Native Smartphone Film Festival’s vision is to create a film platform providing an opportunity for amateur film makers to incorporate talent and creativity into 3-8-minute homemade films. The Oneida Film Society hopes to strengthen the foundation for Native arts in Wisconsin to expand audience interest through the art of filmmaking. This is an opportunity to create a conversation with younger generations to assist Native people to use a filmic form to tell stories about who they are and resonate with who we are as a society.
